I love Target and my flower headband!!

Friday, December 4, 2009

I've been searching high and low for something to wear in my hair for our wedding reception and didn't like anything I was finding. So I took a shopping trip to Target for some other things not even looking for me when I found this lovely, sparkly headband!! It was only $7.99!! I can't wait to try it on with my gown! It shows purple in the photo but is actually black. I just love it!

More Trashing the Dress!

Friday, November 20, 2009

There are many brides who would never trash their dress, they would rather sell it or donate it. With some trash the dress sessions you can have it washed and dry cleaned so that it can still be sold or donated to a cause or thrift store. But sometimes there are extreme trash the dress photo shoots where the dress can't be saved. I would like to resell my gown after our wedding, good for me and good for another bride looking for a cheaper dress. What are your thoughts on trashing your dress and how far is too far? Check out my post at AllWomenStalk for an extreme shoot...heres a sneak peek!

(source) photo by Michael Maler

Now if you wanted to go to the extreme to make for some crazy, hardcore, badass photos and session to remember, would you go with the first photo where your smoking, drinking, holding a gun, or would you rather get silly crazy with paint and have more cheerful photos? Both photos are artistic and both photographers have captured what the bride/couple were looking for. Question is, which one would you like for a trash the dress photo shoot?

Moms are a big help when it comes to wedding planning, wedding dress shopping, and getting ready on the big day. Some times you disagree and have different opinions, but in the end you know she's there for you to lend a helping hand.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Every time I talk with my dad about the wedding I get excited and think about him walking me down the aisle. I think about the first time he will see his little girl in her wedding dress and how he will smile at me and I will smile right back!

Trash the Dress

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Would or will you be Trashing your dress? I love the amazing pictures that I have found online of unique ways to Trash the dress. I have seen carnival rides, paint, beach and water pictures, snow, hot cars and junk yard cars and so much more. There are so many ways and so many styles. You can be romantic, silly, "trashy", bold, etc. What way will you or would you trash your dress? My fiance and I love the beach and as you know he proposed to me on the beach...a trash the dress photo shoot at the same location would be romantic, but I think I would have to buy a 2nd hand store dress or one from ebay. I def want to try and resell my gown after the wedding!

I'm still around...

Friday, August 28, 2009

I've been MIA for about a month or so...I'm a very busy woman and life doesn't slow down for anyone! The end of the summer has been very hectic for us with the girls staying with us, going to events for other people, planning our wedding (did you hear...my dress came in already!), working, vacations, back to school for the kids, etc. This weekend alone we have three different things planned for us! My fiance's son is going back to college, I have a bridal shower to go to (for someone else getting married!) shhh!, and possibly a baby shower if the rain ever stops (hurricane Danny is in the area). So next month seems like it's going to be a fresh new start with a less hectic household...until the holidays come! So for all those following me on here and on AllWomenStalk keep your eyes open for new posts from yours truly...and thanks for sticking it through this crazy period and coming back for more! :)

And look at all the new followers I have...wow I'm up to 35! Thanks everyone :)

What are you reading?

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

I just picked up a new book, "The Nine Lessons" by Kevin Alan Milne. It's about a young man who is surprised when his wife of seven years becomes pregnant...surprised because he always said he didn't want children. She is just as surprised and excited, but a little hurt by his reaction. The young man didn't have the greatest relationship with his father and he doesn't know how to be one himself. Because of this he actually turns to his father for advice and receives nine lessons. I'm only at chapter 2 but already I can see that it's going to be a great read.

Before "The Nine Lessons" I finished "Sunday's at Tiffany's" by James Patterson and Gabrielle Charbonnet. I bought this wonderful book while we were on vacation and I finished it on the ride home from vacation! Such imagination is used in this complicated love story about a young girl who finds friendship in an imaginary friend because her mother is too busy being a broadway producer. The complicated part comes when her imaginary friend finds her years later and everyone in the book can now see him. It's a funny love story but a romantic one that kept me reading till the end!

Kids and Weddings...

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

It's a very popular topic amoung the wedding blogs and boards. Inviting children to your wedding and having children participate in your wedding; both can be very heated topics when it comes down to it. Parents get upset and don't understand why they can't bring their three year old son, who you know is a screamer, to your very formal wedding. And your sister doesn't know why you won't have her four year old daughter, who is trying to learn how to use the potty, as your flower girl. Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to children and weddings and I stand in the middle myself. Sometimes unexpected events from kids at a wedding makes for a great laugh and a great memory...which is why I wrote 5 Reasons to Have Kids in Your Wedding.

When you look back at their cute little faces in those cute little dresses or suits you'll remember why you chose to have them in your wedding. And even when there is a picture of the flower girl crying as she walks down the aisle...it's still cute! Just make sure you aren't cutting into her nap time! I'm very excited to have my maid of honor's daughter as our flower girl...she is the cutest little girl and I can't wait to see her flower girl dress!! However, she will be the only child under 12 who will be attending our wedding. There are other children we know who just can't seem to keep their hands off of things and it worries us that things like centerpieces and candles wouldn't be a great idea to have around them! Having children in and at your wedding can be a great experience and if you're on the line about which way to go check out the link above at AllWomenStalk.com. Remember just because you're having a flower girl or ring bearer doesn't mean that you have to invite so and so's kids too, especially if you know they will misbehave! This is your wedding...not theirs! Here is evidence of why kids should be in weddings!
