Many of us have seen and fallen in love with Princess Lasertron'samazing button and felt bouquets, I remember when I saw the one she made for her own wedding...stunning! You can contact her for your very own customized button, floral bouquet or you can buy a kit from her to make your very own!! I bet many of you already knew this...but did you know that she now has her own bridal gown line? How did I find all this out...from the Broke Ass Bride! They are unique, fun, flirty and offbeat...and I want one! My two favorite...
Everyone loves those iPhone wedding photos where the couple is kissing on the iPhone and in the background...but did you know that you can now plan your wedding on your iPhone? You can find the perfect dress, search for your honeymoon destination, narrow down your choices of vendors, and even register gifts!
Brides and Grooms are so busy planning that some of them don't have time to sit at the computer and look for inspiration. Could you imagine if they had these apps when you were planning your wedding? You would never need to sit at your desk again...that is if you have an iPhone! What app will be your favorite?
Don't know about you, but here in Philly it doesn't feel like Autumn just yet. I'm ready to pull out the jeans, sweaters, and cozy up with my hubby on the pumpkin patch hayride! So why isn't the weather agreeing with me? What is it like where you are? Yesterday it was 90 degrees...90!! Today was a little better, but still in the 80s. At least football is back and the Steelers are doing great...talking about sports, the Phillies (baseball) are doing great as well!! Will be posting some photos soon of the Phillies game we went to on Tuesday...they won 5-3...first time together at the Citizen's Bank Park, what a great time!
Since we're on the topic of sports...would you or have you had a ballpark/sports theme wedding? We actually had Steelers M&M favors at our wedding...the Eagles fans booed! Check out this baseball loving wedding...
I've seen some photos online where women dress in cute little vintage dresses and wear birdcage veils with them...o how I wish I could be that woman! When we were planning our wedding I never really thought about a birdcage veil and when I did see a bride wearing one I just wasn't sure it would look right on me. But how I love them now and wonder if I could have been a birdcage bride! Are you a birdcage bride, did you DIY your veil?
I dvr'd Friday's episode of Oprah and cried the entire time I watched it last night! First because she helped an amazing woman who lost her arms and legs and her husband lost his job. They were renting a small apartment with their two young daughters so Oprah sent them on a journey to search for a new HOME that she is going to buy for them...paid in full! Then she brought out Vera Wang and together they gave 50 brides50 Vera Wang dresses from her new David's Bridal "White" collection coming out in Feb. and then they gave those same brides $4,000 for a honeymoon at any Marriott, $250.00 from Kohls for a new honeymoon wardrobe, and airfare from United Airlines to fly any where in the US, the Virgin Islands, Canada, or Puerto Rico!!
Another wonderful surprise was when Oprah helped a single mother who paid for her three children to go to college and wouldn't be able to pay off the $78,000 loan debt till she was 90...well Oprah paid off that debt for her, paid for them to go on a dream trip to Italy, and paid her bills for a year so she can take off and have some time for herself!
Oh and Oprah loves Chicken Pie!! And not just any chicken pie....it has to be from Centerville Pie Company in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. These wonderful women wanted to give Oprah and Gayle some comfort food when they were in Mass. to attend Eunice Kennedy Shriver's funeral. Since then they have teamed up to work with Cape Abilities, a nonprofit organization that helps adults with disabilities find work. It all seemed like it was meant to be since Eunice founded the Special Olympics and now these ladies were helping and giving some of their profits to Cape Abilities. So Oprah wanted to reward them...so she told them that Harry & David were going to sell their pies in their catalog, which reaches millions of people!
Just found this YouTube video over on GangstaBride and I'm falling in love with the video and finding a blog called GangstaBride! Check them both out...
♥ Her voice, her moves...and those little girls just made me smile...but then the dolls caught on fire! ♥
And I love this wedding from WeddingChicks! The bride and groom are so adorable and their colors...TEAL AND YELLOW...those were our colors!!
How stinking adorable is that first photo with the couple kissing holding the & sign!!! If you can find an & sign I advise you to steal this idea!! The yellow and green bouquets look so lovely with the bright teal color of the bridesmaiddresses; I love that the bride's bouquet has a white flower in it to stand out from theirs. Her heels are so beautiful, love those ruffles and the blue flower, I wonder if she clipped that on herself? Photographer Sweet Monday captured their love and their wedding so well!
I just read that the groom'sfather passed away while he was in high school and they wanted to make sure his memory was apart of their wedding day so his sister carried their father's bible and read from it during the ceremony. It's really great to hear wonderful stories like this because you can connect with the couple on another level, it's more than just looking at a beautiful bride and groom.
I've seen so many retro inspired engagement shoots and weddings on blogs lately that I might just throw a retro party! I love the clothing, the hair, the red lip, and don't forget about Don Draper! I think the trend and obsession may have started before AMC's Mad Men....but now that the show is so popular and sexy, why not be inspired by Mad Men too!

Just about everyone can remember where they were on Sept. 11th 2001 and what was going through their minds when they saw the horrific event that has affected us all. I was in my first year of college and had just woken up to go to class when I turned on the TV to see what the weather was going to be for that day. Little did I know that the weather wasn't going to matter at all. When I saw what was going on I wasn't sure what I was watching. I thought maybe I had turned on the wrong channel and was watching a movie. But then I realized it was the news...and it was live. I was in shock and right away I called my parents. My younger sister was in school at the time and I was afraid that something might happen to Philly next because the news said there was a plane in that area. I couldn't get in touch with anyone and I wasn't sure what to do because I was a freshman who just started at Millersville University, so I went to class.
As I walked down the street to class I saw students stopping in the middle of the sidewalk to pray, cry, and hug each other. In the back of my mind I still worried about home, my sisters, parents, and family, but continued to walk to class. A few of my classes were canceled and in other classes we talked about what was going on or watched the news. I later got in contact with my parents and everyone was safe and sound but in shock like the rest of us. I didn't understand why someone would do this and I cried as I saw the people jumping from the buildings. The country will never forget...the world will never forget this day. Every time I see 9:11 on the clock I remember, every time I see New York City I remember, every time I hear about those who fought on Flight 93 I remember, every time I think about my freshman year I remember, every time I hear something new about that day I remember. We'll Always Remember.
I've seen Taylor Swift's new Video, "Mine", floating around on the blogs and I have to join in on the band wagon because I love it too! It's a sweet song and a great video...plus theres a little wedding scene in it where Taylor Swift looks very beautiful in a wedding gown!
So many brides are worried about what their tattoos will look like on their big day, and I was one of those brides. I worried how my dress might look with the tattoos and even what some guests would think about me having tattoos. But when I saw how beautiful I looked in my dress I wanted to embrace who I was and show off my creative side as well as my beauty! I hope other tattooed brides will do the same and flaunt who you really are and don't hide anything on one of the most important days...be true to you inside and out.
