Enjoying a Wonderful Birthday Celebration Week!

Monday, March 12, 2012

I really love my family and friends...I'm such a lucky lady to enjoy more than just one day of celebration for my birthday. Two weeks ago a good friend emailed me and said it was my turn to be treated to lunch this time especially since my birthday was coming up so I should pick a day, time, and place! We went to my new favorite cafe and had a great time chatting and eating; we were there for two hours and it probably only took 30 minutes to eat! After my friend told the waitress it was my birthday they told us we could stay as long as we wanted!

I also went to the Philadelphia Flower Show, a tradition I started with my mom for my birthday! We get lunch in China Town and then head over to the convention center for the show. I was involved with the show in high school and have gone to it every year since. This year the theme was centered around Hawaii and the tropical exhibits and florals just took my breath away, even more so than last year's Paris theme!

Check it out for yourself...

First Up: China Town!

Aloha!

The Coolest Entry Way Ever...

This photo doesn't do justice to the gorgeous waterfall and hut...

The graphics that were displayed on the hut were unlike anything I've ever seen...

As we arrived there was a show of Hawaiian Dancers!

Succulents, Pro Tea, and Pineapples were every where...

My beautiful mom!

These next two photos were from an orchid exhibit...

How clever...pails used as heating lamps!

Canned Fruit... thought of a certain lady when I saw these and this mason jar....

How amazing is this exhitbit that looks like the inside of a Volcano...

In Honor of Pearl Harbor...

To be continued...

It's Already Thursday!

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Wow I can't believe it's already Thursday! This week went by very quick it feels like, and yesterday I finally got my hair cut and I couldn't love it more! I wish I had a personal stylist every day, I just love the curls and  wave she put into it. I'm so excited for this weekend...it's my birthday and also my older sisters birthday! We're 2 years and one day apart! She's turning 30 on Friday and I'll be 28 on Saturday. How cute is this picture of us when we were younger....

And I still love elephants!

My new Hair Do!

On Friday I'll be going to the Philadelphia Flower Show (that I talked about here) with my mom, can't wait! Expect lots of pictures later from the Spring in Paris theme of the event!

Any big events going on for you this weekend?

Dreaming of Spring!

Friday, February 25, 2011

Now that I posted that lovely Paris photo with the wonderful garden of Tulips that's all I've been thinking of! I haven't really been much of a garden person since high school, I was actually in the horticulture program and was part of the Philadelphia Flower Show with our school. You would think I would have more plants and flowers in front of our house! I really enjoyed it in high school, it's always nice being in classes where you're doing more than just sitting in a desk listening to the teacher talk.

OK...so I just went to the Philadelphia Flower Show website to get the link for you and the theme this year..."Springtime in Paris"...REALLY!! That's amazing, so does this mean I should really make sure we go to the Flower Show this year or should I be in Paris in the Springtime! The show is March 6-13 at the Philadelphia Convention Center....be there!

We went a few years ago when it was a New Orleans theme, best time ever! There was a New Orleans style band there that was amazing. And oh yes the flowers were gorgeous!

A Few Photos from that year....
